Check the stipulated time and cancelation charges

The stipulated time means the use periods that users in advance set when they make contracts. If users set the stipulated time, discount benefits (discounts of monthly minimum, modem rental, and installation charges) are provided. And the longer stipulated time is, the larger benefits are
Discount return means paying the discounted amount when cancelling or reducing the period of the contract during the agreed period. The calculation standard is different depending on the company, rate system, individual agreement, so confirm the relevant contents by asking the customer service center or checking the Paid broadcasting agreement
If users’ stipulated time expires, the business operators should notify them of this before the termination of agreements. If the users don’t make new contracts or ask for cancelation before the termination of the agreements, the contracts are automatically extended. But, if they cancel the contracts during the automatic extension period, they don’t have to pay cancelation charges

Select a business operator and a rate system

Select a business operator by considering charges for using the service and channels. When you select a rate system, check the basic contents in users’ agreements and select the method which is suitable for you by considering your usage patterns
The charges consist of installation charges, charges for using the service (the basic product, the selective product), charges for using additional services, and device fees
Various benefits are provided according to cut-price products for persons who use long term contracts or joint subscription, methods (online subscription), and payment methods of charges (automatic withdrawal)

Check contents offerings

There are different channels and contents which can be provided by business operators in the IPTV service. You should check them and subscribe to the service
In the contents provided by IPTV business operators, channels are different according to subscription to products except the basic product and methods to select the basic type and the luxury type
Also, the free VOD provided has different methods or advertisement time depending on the company, so it is better to look before choosing

Membership of minors

When a minor is singing up for Paid broadcasting service, guardian(legal representative in civil law)’s consent is essential, and the company can require additional documents like legal representative’s ID card, family relation certificate, consent
Contract concluded without the guardian’s consent can be required to be canceled, and it is not necessary to pay charge and cancellation charge

Benefits including exemption from charges

Detailed service is different depending on the IPTV company, but Beneficiary of national basic livelihood , handicapped people, people of national merit, family with more than 3 children below age 20 can receive discount when they submit the evidence documents. This welfare is limited to 1 line, 1 terminal per person
The level of welfare is discount of 30% in basic product charge

Check if the service is opened

When users check opening after asking business operators to open the services or the business operators notify the users of the fact that the service is opened by phone, fax, e-mail, visit, and mail is regarded as the time that the service is opened. Therefore, the users should check the time that the business operators notify them of the fact that the service is opened exactly and recognize the contents
And the business operators notify the users of the fact that opening will be delayed after the contracts are concluded by phone, fax, e-mail, visit, or mail if they expect it. Therefore, if the users who cannot be notified are damaged due to delay of opening, they can inquire of the business operators about compensation matters

How to subscribe

Membership procedure

User or deputy can submit the documents and application through window receipt, phone, mail and other methods. When a deputy is applying, ID card of the user and deputy are needed. When the applicant and payer is different, check the consent of payer through phone
The company may limit the sign up of user in case of illegal use of other´s name, false document, when the installation place is inadequate, when there is a default of charge or bad credit
Business operators should distribute contracts with major contents including basic information on membership and related to payment of charges, special contract details (Details promised in contracts including gifts), information on installation work (speed measurement results), contents related to cancelation charges and indemnities to users after contracts are concluded. The users should check and keep them meticulously

Payment of installation charges

Users should bear expenses about purchase, rental, installation of terminals which are necessary for use of the IPTV service when you subscribe to it. The installation charges can be discounted or exempted according to the stipulated time of users. If they cancel it during the stipulated time, they should pay cancelation charges. In addition, they should be responsible for indemnification if rental equipment is lost or damaged
