Check charges for using the service

  • If phone bills are sent to you, you should check if fees are exactly charged as the rate system that you made the contract in membership
  • Especially, the charges for using the additional services that you did not subscribe can be charged. You should check the details of bills carefully.
  • The bills include charges for using the service according to rate systems that you basically select, charges for selecting products, installation charges, device fees, and discount details

  • Users can raise objections against charging and billing within 6 months from the billing date and the applicable carriers should immediately receive and investigate them and notify them of the results within 10 days
  • If there is payment in excess or mistaken payment, the applicable business operators should refund the charges to users or calculate the next month’s bills by deducting the charges from them

Information on change of usage contents

  • If there are any changes related to charges and usage conditions, business operators should notify users of the changes through the service screen or the company’s web sites 7 days before change

Information on change of channels

  • Channels are changed because of balance between genres which consider ratings and entry and exit of the business operators which provide programs. Entertainment and sports programming network business operators should inform users of a half of the entire channels including the ones which will be changed two weeks before and after the changed date and the relevant facts through their web sites or by e-mail or mail. If change of channels and packages is inevitable after contracts are concluded

Dispute settlement standard in case of service error (2019)

  • When there is a service error in using IPTV, the compensation standard is stated in the company’s service clause, and it may be different depending on the company
  • According to Consumer dispute settlement regulation(2014), which is the minimum standard of the compensation, when service error over 1 hour has occurred more than 5 times a month, or when the accumulated time of suspension and error is over 72 hours a month, cancel the contract without paying the installation charge exempted and discounts
  • As a compensation, deduct the amount calculated by multiplying the non-received days to the daily charge from the charge of this month. When the user did not receive the service for more than 5 days in a row or more than 7 days a month, the charge for the month is exempted
  • The error occurrence time is based on the time that the user reported the error to the company, but if there are other evidences that are beneficial to the user, it is based on that evidences. However, when service was suspended due to force majeure(Like natural disaster) or advanced notice form the company(Line construction), and user’s intention or mistake, the period is excluded from calculating the suspension, error time

  • VoD means the service that users purchase and use various contents by unit provided by business operators. The VoD service is divided into FVoD(Free VoD), RVoD(Realtime VoD), and NVoD(Near VoD).

Change and pause of contract details

Change of contract details

  • If users try to change contract details including their names, contact information, how to pay for usage fees, service types, installation places, they should submit application forms for change and identification cards to carriers
  • If users’ positions are succeeded to others because of inheritance, the persons who succeeded to the positions should notify business operators of the facts in writing with documentary evidence
  • If you try to change installation places, you should ask the applicable business operators to do them and bear the expenses which are necessary for transfer

Pause

  • If you try to stop use of the service temporarily, you should ask the applicable business operators to do it by setting the periods. For the pause periods and frequency, you can ask the applicable business operators to stop use of the service within the range which exceeds total 3 months less than three times for a year (Some business operators provide 90 days)
  • Because the pause periods are not included in the usage periods, there are any call charges. But device rental can be charged
